Operating across six provinces, we strengthened fisheries management, reforested wetlands, and supported farm-based innovations, all while respecting centuries of local knowledge. Our data-driven approach spanned habitat restoration, sustainable agriculture, fire management, and eco-tourism. These interventions built resilience for communities who depend on Tonle Sap’s seasonal rhythms. Looking ahead, our work highlights a path toward long-term stewardship of an irreplaceable resource.

this EU-funded initiative united local communities, NGOs, and government agencies to safeguard Tonle Sap—Southeast Asia’s most expansive lake.

Our teams focus on practical, field-tested solutions: planting native flooded forest saplings in degraded sections of the floodplain, patrolling to deter illegal activity, and guiding farmers toward profitable yet ecologically sound practices. Each action contributes to stronger, more adaptable ecosystems.

We also partnered with local leaders to refine regulations, direct investments toward conservation, and encourage ecologically sound farming. This collective approach balanced urgent habitat needs with opportunities for sustainable growth.
